In an area where demand for hip hair supports seven salons within two minutes’ walking distance, the atmosphere at AQFFIN is supremely relaxing – a chilled-out change from its full-on competitors. The kitsch decor – toy robots, cherry-red cube chairs and artfully haphazard Dan Flavin-style tube lighting – lends a cheery vibe. Cuts ‘from classic to crazy’, as well as the latest version of the Yuko straightening system, are executed to a high standard: owner Ikkei’s crop of stylists all have at least ten years’ experience. "I used to live around Shoreditch a few years ago and go to this salon (after trying many others). They always did an amazing job of my hair. I moved to Greenwich and for convenience, got it cut here until I realised that no one even closely measured up to the standard of cutting in this salon. I went back a couple of months ago and the standard is still amazing. I'll continue to use this salon for as long as I'm in London."

"I absolutely hate going to the hairdressers, mainly because of how pretentious they are and the way my hair looks afterwards. Until now! AQFFIN is just a really welcoming, stylish yet humble place. It doesn't have any of the opulence that maybe somewhere like Taylor Taylor has and that's a good thing. It's just a practical space that does exactly what it should... cut hair well!
I've spent the past couple of months growing my hair out after the last hairdresser I went to butchered it. I mean this lady really had no clue how to cut hair and I ended up with one huge 'layer' which looked like a step in my hair from one 'style' to another. I didn't think it could be fixed but went to AQFFIN so they could at least tidy it up a bit while I was still growing it. Well my god, Ikkei is a genius! He totally fixed my hair... it looks amazing! I didn't have much to work with in the short section but he tidied it up and blended it all together perfectly.
This is the first time I can actually remember leaving the hairdresser with a smile on my face.
I've finally found my perfect hairdresser and can't recommend this place enough! :)"
